Ancient Wisdom for the Modern World: an Introduction to Buddhism

This course offers an introduction to the essence of the Buddha’s
teachings. Passed down for over 2,500 years by a lineage of masters who
reflected deeply on their meaning and experienced their truth
personally, these teachings on non-harming, compassion, wisdom,
impermanence, and interdependence address the basic human desire to
find happiness and are not limited to any particular social context.
They are as useful today as they were when first spoken in the gardens
and groves of India so many years ago.

Video teachings by Sogyal Rinpoche, author of The Tibetan Book of
Living and Dying
, are combined with instructor presentations,
meditation, reflection, and interactive exercises to create a
supportive environment for turning our study and practice into a living
understanding that can guide us in facing the challenges of daily life.

Ancient Wisdom will be offered on four Thursday evenings, 7-9 pm, April 3 -24.

Open to Everyone; Course Fee: $65 + $15 for manual; no fee for All-in-One subscribers; no one is ever turned away for lack of funds.
